Download Time – Halo Wars 2
The newest entry in the Halo series is here, with the RTS title Halo Wars 2. The game picks up 28 years after the original, as the crew of the Spirit of Fire wake from cryosleep and find themselves on the Forerunner installation known as The Ark. If you’re seeking to take the downloadable option, especially since Halo Wars 2 is part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program, you’ll no doubt want to know how long the download time will be. Unfortunately, we obviously can’t give you an exact estimate as it depends on your own internet speeds, but we’ll give you a rough estimate of how long it could take.
Halo Wars 2 Steam
Halo Wars 2 is roughly 24.07 GB on both Xbox One and PC. Certainly not the largest file size out there, but decent. Depending on your speed, the game should take anywhere from 30 minutes to download, up to 2 hours. For myself, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes. Keep in mind that your Xbox will still download the game when powered off. If you bought the Ultimate Edition you’ll also have access to Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, which only has a 9.46 GB file size.
After this download time, there’s also a bit of an installation process that takes place for Halo Wars 2 as well, which took me about 30 minutes when I started up the game for the first time. Luckily, you can play the game’s three tutorials while you wait for the installation.
